No tech jargon. No shame. Just a friendly human who loves helping people feel more at home with their devices.

Services

Every visit is one-on-one and paced to match the person in front of us. We focus on real-life tasks, not memorizing every button.

New device setup

A new device can feel overwhelming. We unbox it together and set it up in a way that makes sense.

  • Personalized setup for phones, tablets, and computers
  • Connecting to home Wi-Fi and printers
  • Creating and signing into accounts
  • Adjusting text size & accessibility settings

Everyday troubleshooting

When something suddenly “stops working,” we sit down, breathe, and work through it together.

  • Slow or confusing devices
  • Error messages and pop-ups
  • Re-organizing apps and home screens
  • Understanding what changed after an update

Staying connected

Support for staying in touch with family, friends, and community.

  • Texting, email, and video calls
  • Sharing and backing up photos
  • Using calendars, reminders, and notes
  • Community tools like library or clinic portals

Safety & confidence online

Gentle scam awareness

Calm, practical conversations about staying safer with technology.

  • Recognizing suspicious calls, texts, and emails
  • “Too good to be true” offers and pressure tactics
  • Creating and storing stronger passwords
  • Knowing when to pause and ask for help

We don’t make financial, legal, or medical decisions for clients and can’t promise technology will be problem-free, but we can help people feel more prepared and less alone.

How it works

A simple, low-stress process designed for older adults and the people who care about them.

  1. 1
    You reach out.
Use the “Book a Session” button or call to share who needs help, where you’re located, and what’s going on with the technology.
  2. 2
    We confirm details.
We follow up to confirm the visit time, location, and any specific devices or questions to focus on.
  3. 3
    In-home visit.
We come to the home, move at a comfortable pace, and pause as needed. A family member or caregiver is welcome to join.
  4. 4
    Wrap-up & next steps.
Payment is due at the time of the visit unless we’ve planned something different ahead of time. We review what we did and suggest simple next steps or practice ideas.

About ElderTech

ElderTech exists to make everyday technology feel less scary and more supportive for older adults and their families.

Many people are handed new devices with little explanation and are expected to “just know” how to use them. ElderTech slows things down, uses plain language, and focuses on what truly matters: staying connected, independent, and informed.

We’re based in Rockland, Maine, and familiar with the realities of older homes, spotty internet, and busy caregivers. Visits are personalized and can be scheduled by the person themselves, an adult child, or another trusted supporter.
